- Orange River Vineyards Investment (Pty) Ltd (ORVI) operates an irrigation system for the cultivation of table grapes along the Orange River in Aussenkehr, Karas Region in the South of Namibia. ORVI grows grapes in a desert, provides local jobs and housing and working towards the betterment of the community. ORVI is focusing on sustainability initiatives to improve its efficiency and environmental impact. ORVI has built 58 low cost houses for their staff. In one year, this installation gives a solar yield of 111.31 MWh and is responsible for the avoidance of 38497.80 kilograms of CO2 emissions.
