SOS Children’s Village is a World-wide child development organisation that gives underprivileged youth and vulnerable children an opportunity to grow up in a loving home regardless of culture, race of religion. The roots of SOS Children’s Villages go as far back as the Second World war, where the founder took it upon himself to help children left as orphans and homeless because of the war. The Villages receive support from individuals, corporate organisations, governments and foundations. In Botswana there are three Villages with well over 1800 pupils.The facility in Tlokweng has 20 individual housing units accommodating 5 people per house and has 2 showers and a kitchen.
In one year, this installation gives a solar yield of 47.35 MWh and is responsible for the avoidance of 16376.60 kilograms of CO2 emissions.
