The David Webster dormatories is an existing student residences building, owned by the University of the Witwatersrand. Dr David Webster was an academic and anti-apartheid activist and worked as a senior lecturer at the University of the Witwatersrand. In 1992 the University of the Witwatersrand named a new Hall of Residence which is now home to 336 Wits University Students to Dr Webster’s honour. In one year, this installation gives a solar yield of 84.97 MWh and is responsible for the avoidance of 29386.65 kilograms of CO2 emissions.
