The SOLTRAIN delegation, which was attending the 2nd International Sustainable Energy Conference (ISEC) 2022 in Graz, Austria from 05 - 07 April 2022, paid a courtesy visit to the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) in Vienna on 8 April 2022.

Mr Werner Weiss of AEE INTEC (Lead SOLTRAIN Partner) at ADA offices for the meeting

During the courtesy visit, meetings were held with the ADA project and management team as well as with the ADA Managing Director, Dr. Friedrich Stift. The meeting objective was to brief ADA on the progress made in the implementation of SOLTRAIN projects and proposed future developments. ADA is the funding partner of SOLTRAIN.

The SOLTRAIN implementing partners highlighted the activities and impact that SOLTRAIN activities have achieved so far in their respective countries. In the meeting it was highlighted that SOLTRAIN in its current form was coming to an end in the last quarter of 2022 but that there is on-going preparation with AEE INTEC with the blessing of ADA and the partners to develop another phase, named SOLTRAIN +.

Dr. Stift expressed his appreciation for the visit and briefing, and reiterated ADA’s commitment to the SADC region and that they are working on establishing a memorandum of understanding with the SADC Secretariat.
