On 8 July 2026, the Kingdom of Eswatini officially launched the 3rd SADC Sustainable Energy Week (SADC SEW) during a ceremony led by His Royal Highness Prince Lonkhokhela, Honourable Minister of Natural Resources and Energy. The launch marked the official commencement of preparations for Southern Africa's premier sustainable energy gathering and reaffirmed the region's commitment to advancing sustainable energy, strengthening energy security, and fostering climate resilience through regional collaboration.
The event also unveiled the official theme for the 2027 SADC Sustainable Energy Week: "Financing the Future to Unlock Investment for Sustainable Energy, Energy Access and Energy Security in the SADC Region."
Scheduled to take place from 15–19 March 2027 in the Kingdom of Eswatini, the event will be hosted by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Energy, in collaboration with the SADC Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (SACREEE). The week will bring together ministers, policymakers, regulators, utilities, development partners, financiers, private sector leaders, researchers, academia and innovators from across the 16 SADC Member States and beyond.
