The 2nd International Sustainable Energy Conference (ISEC 2022), themed around Renewable Heating and Cooling in Integrated Urban and Industrial Energy Systems, took place in Graz, Austria, from April 5-7, 2022.
The conference, organized by AEE INTEC in cooperation with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, sees itself as an impulse generator for innovative ideas in the fields of renewable energy systems and resource efficiency.
Therefore, solutions and initiatives for the implementation of the agreement on global warming and the phase-out of fossil energy supply reached at the UN Climate Change Conference in Paris in December 2015 were presented and discussed in seven high-level keynote speeches, 80 presentations and about 100 poster contributions.
A total of 350 experts from science, industry, and politics from 40 countries attended the conference, of which 250 were physically present at the Graz Congress Center and about 100 people participated online in this hybrid conference.
The 17 participants from the SOLTRAIN project from four countries in southern Africa also contributed to the strong international presence. The SOLTRAIN project's activities and successes to date were presented in a highly regarded session.
It is also noteworthy that Prof. Kevin Nnanye Nwaigwe, one of the SOLTRAIN partners from University of Botswana, was awarded one of the three best poster awards. The chairman of the international jury Prof Hans Schnitzer from Graz University of Technology congratulated Prof Nwaigwe and presented him with the certificate.
